1.) Kim, I remember taking a bad fall with both legs going out from under me. Every one was really worried and I was very embarrassed at how clumsy I was. I remember being starved and we would go out for something to eat and as soon as the food came I could not stand the sight of it. I get a doggy bag and take it home and eventually it would be thrown out. I also remember having a craving for pecan pie so I purchased one and ate the whole thing. I still have a hard time eating that pie today. My entire pregnancy was always based on nausea any time of day or night with not much relief, I didn't gain as much weight and in the end my labor time was quite short I think I averaged two hrs per child. Enjoy your child they do not stay little very long. I also put books in my kids hands from little on so they develop a love of books from day one as they say.

2.) Being pregnant was quite the experience. It started off OK. The morning sickness wasn't that bad for me, I was mostly just hungry and it would make my stomach queasy in the morning. I would stuff soda crackers in my mouth before I even opened my eyes!! And I did really good with my weight until the 6 month mark. Then all things went down hill. I started swelling. I would get home from work and when I took my socks off, there would be a huge indentation where the cuff was. I would sleep with my feet elevated on a pillow and then when I got up in the morning, all the fluid had run to my face. Then during the day it would run back down to my feet. I remember my doctor telling me I could wear compression hose and I laughed. I told him the swelling would just start where the hose ended!!! People used to ask me what I craved. Food. Any food. All kinds of food. I could eat more than 3 people put together.

I almost tipped the 200 pound mark!!! I had started off at 135. After I had Bowdrie, I lost 35 pounds of fluid before I even got home. With Colton, I didn't swell but still gained a ton of weight, only this time I didn't have swelling to blame it on - it was just plain fat!! And stretch marks...........OH YEAH. Later I learned being a whale when pregnant runs in our family. Grandma Clemens wore a size 16 after she had Kathy. My mom gained a lot of weight as did Marcey. Oh well - we all managed to get rid of it! It is a joy and an experience that you will never forget, and very definitely WORTH EVERY MINUTE!!!!

3.) Kim, I remember being 10 years old and having some of my friends become aunts. I was so jealous; I too wanted to become an aunt. The time wasn't right and I am now grateful for that. If I would have become a first time aunt when I was a child I wouldn't be able to appreciate and be apart of this wonderful miracle. It's been an absolute delight to be able to share in this experience with you. It's amazing how much you have changed over the past 8 months. You were once one of the craziest individuals I knew. I'm sure we all have a couple stories we could s hare about you.

Times sure have changed. I always felt like I was the one watching over you. I have noticed that now I am coming to you for advice and support. It's funny how that motherly instinct grows during this time. I have been reading everyone's letters and advice and taking it all to heart, for someday I too will become a mother. I hope you and Tyler are able to enjoy this book for many years to come, and that someday you will be able to add your own thoughts and funny stories. I love you and I wish you all the happiness in the world.
